Town of West Liberty WV

History

The Town of West Liberty, formerly Black's Cabin, was formed in 1777 and served as the County seat of Ohio County, Virginia form 1777 until 1797.  The current population of West Liberty, WV according to the 2020 US Census of 1,435.  It is 78th largest city in the State of West Virginia.  Town Council meets on the second and fourth Mondays of every month at  Van Meter Way, West Liberty WV.  Telephone (304) 336-7410.

Government

The Town of West Liberty is structured and operates under the Mayor - Council Plan specified in West Virginia Code. The Town Council are elected to  four year terms, the Mayor and Recorder are appointed from within the elected members of Town Council. 

Town Council meets at 7:30pm on the second and fourth Monday of each month, holidays excluded.
